Jimmy Buchan
Born and raised in the famous fishing port of Peterhead, Jimmy Buchan is the skipper of the trawler Amity, operating out of Britain's busiest fishing port, Peterhead. He shot to fame when he and his crew featured in the hit BBC series 'Trawlermen'.
Jimmy has enjoyed thirty years’ success at the sharp end of one of the most dangerous jobs in Britain. He has survived violent storms, misfortune and a declining industry to become a respected and successful skipper, and his frankness and sense of humour in Trawlermen won him many fans and fame.
The Chair and a board member of the Scottish Fishermen’s Organization, Port Convenor of Peterhead Port and a keen supporter of the Fishermen’s Mission, Jimmy is a passionate voice on behalf of the industry.
