George Bird

George Bird has translated Russian and German literature since 1957, including Dostoevsky’s The Double.  He wrote The Fischer-Dieskau Book of Lieder with Richard Stokes.

In 1986, as John Lear, he won the Pluto Crime Prize for his novel Death in Leningrad.
