Representing Remarkable Writers

Margaret Hanbury founded her literary agency in 1983 at the suggestion of J.G. Ballard, who she continued to represent worldwide until 2009. The agency represents its clients worldwide and works hard to arrange overseas publication of authors' work. We are members of The Association of Authors' Agents and have a reputation for reliability and success.

The client base ranges from novelists to historians, including popular culture and current affairs. We were at the forefront of the 'celebrity memoir' phenomenon with Katie Price's first autobiography which went on to sell a million copies.  The agency represents several professional ghostwriters and is experienced in forming successful partnerships.

In 2011 the agency opened its Media department, which specialises in creative PR, marketing and social media campaigns. Working across all media channels, we identify the stories that will break into the media and reach as wide an audience as possible. The Media department supports the agency’s authors and also represents individuals and organisations, with a particular focus on enterprise and third sector issues.

The Media department prides itself on its creative ideas, as well as offering a host of traditional PR services. We know how to make the most of what you do – please contact us to see how we can help you.
